Who am I to hope that Christian leaders will be transformed into Christlike servants? I am a nobody. Just a person, an ordinary human being. In spirituality, I’m a little child, hardly knowing how to come in or go out – at best, one of the least of His kingdom. This modesty is in no way false.
Yet I do long to see this transformation. Christian leaders are over believers; Christlike servants are under them. Christian leaders seek to draw the Lord’s believers to their respective causes; Christlike servants send believers to their Lord. Christian leaders trust in their Christian identities; Christlike servants trust the Lord.
The transformation I hope for is possible, for the Lord wants us all to be Christlike servants. And, of course, nothing is impossible with God.
