God Was Unwilling to Listen to Balaam…or Satan

When Balaam was hired to curse the people of Israel, God would not listen to him and, instead, turned Balaam’s curse into a blessing.

Similarly, when Satan spoke against humanity and said they deserved to be incarcerated forever in death due to their disobedience to God (which Satan himself had inspired), God would not listen to him and, instead, made the curse of death into a blessing.  (Balaam is a type of Satan – the erstwhile servant of God whose own disobedience has relegated him to a life of self-seeking, foolishness, and futility.)  Because of Jesus Christ, death no longer leads down to Sheol, but rather above to heaven.  It used to be that death was the worst thing that could happen to a human being.  Through Jesus Christ, it has become the best thing that could happen to a human being.  Praise be to our God!

Though death casts its shadow on every part of human existence, yet the light of God’s redemptive love overcomes it.

Therefore, you should never worry or fret when anyone criticizes or condemns you for it will always work to your good.  God’s love is so great that even bad things can work out for our good.  For this reason the apostle Paul could say that all things work together for good to those who love God.

Love endures all things.  Blessed be the name of the One who is love:  Jesus Christ our Lord.

The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ in terms familiar to those who read the Bible.
