As you read the New Testament, you can see that those who wrote it and those who read it were preparing for the coming kingdom of God.
The church was a school for the apostles to pass one what they had learned of, and from, Jesus Christ.
It is clear from the reading that the purpose of the church in the New Testament was not to become the institution of church that we see today. The apostles made no provision for their authority to be transferred to anyone except the Lord Himself. They were not seeking to establish a permanent church, but rather to prepare for an eternal kingdom.
If anyone would seek to imitate the New Testament church today, he will not seek anything except to lead others to Jesus and His kingdom. God is not seeking churchgoers today. He is seeking persons of faith.
The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ in terms familiar to those who read the Bible.
