1 Chronicles 11:2

Even though Saul was king of Israel, it was through David – the anointed one – that God delivered the people of Israel.

Even though church exists as an institution and claims authority from God, it is through Jesus that God grants deliverance for us today.  As Saul did not faithfully keep the charge of Samuel and was replaced by David, so the church did not faithfully keep the charge of the apostles and was replaced by the coming of the kingdom of God (Romans 14:17).

You can find grace in church today, but only because Jesus is preached there – and only for as long as He is preached there.

Like a honeycomb in the carcass of a dead lion is Jesus in the church today.  But just as you needn’t go to the carcass of a dead lion to find a honeycomb, so you do not have to venture into a church to find Jesus.  He is everywhere.  Entrance to His kingdom is found wherever His name is called and His word is declared.

Do not be confused about the source of your salvation.  It is the Spirit of Jesus –  and none other.

The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ in terms familiar to those who read the Bible.
